Teaching children to advocate for change starts with getting involved. Get started now by joining a kid-friendly protest against air pollution on July 9th in the D.C. area. The Play-in for Climate Action sponsored by Moms Clean Air Force will feature activities, a news conference, and a march to the nearby Senate office buildings, with stops expected at 40 U.S. Senate offices.
They’ll show exactly what’s at stake as temperatures and sea levels rise: our kids. Knowing that kids can’t sit still, they have chosen to bypass a “sit-in” for a “play-in,” featuring climate-themed activities for children and a march to U.S. Senate offices to deliver a direct message from America’s families: It’s time to get serious about climate change.
The “Play-In for Climate Action” will support the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s proposed first-ever standards cutting carbon pollution from existing power plants, and offer a counterpoint to some in Congress seeking to block the EPA’s major climate initiative.
